This may be a bit of a surprise but a new study shows that the best way to memorise something is to take a quick nap once you have been exposed to what you want to remember. The results of this study in Germany provide a new insight into the cognitive process of how we store and retrieve information. A consequent report points out that the brain works better at storing information while asleep and prevents memories becoming more fragile. It will be interesting to see how this changes the practice of teaching and training over the next few years.
